After exhaustive research into Chinese Scooters, reading the horror stories of breakdowns, unavailable parts and dealer ripoffs, we came across QLink. We checked on the company and found they actually have a facility here in the US as well as large inventories of parts. What impressed me even more... was you could call them and speak to a human being... who spoke english!
The company has set dealer requirements among which includes a local service department. This was also important to us since many fly by night scooter operators are out there selling junk and disapearing.
Try as we might, we could not find any blogs on the net complaining about Qlink or its products. So we checked out Power and Play Warehouse located in South florida\'s Palm Beach and Broward Counties. We were impressed by the machines. Not as beefy as their Japanese or Korean counterparts but at just half the price or an even lower price we felt we had reached a value.
We have bought two of them. I was immediatly impressed by its stability and its cushy cadillac type ride. I was even more impressed by its power. After the initial 300 mile break in period, I had it serviced at Power and Play Warehouse in Pompano Beach (they did it while I waited in about 20 minutes) and immediatly took it on the highway.
I\'m a big man, 235 pounds but you couldn\'t tell by how quickly the Commuter got up to highway speed even on an upgrade. I was impressed, it handled 70 MPH (115KM) without a problem and I feel it may have gone faster that that.
Handling at highway speeds was a little trickier than local speeds since the bike is not as heavy as a comparable motorcycle. Yet it\'s aerodynamic design provided a smooth and exhilerating ride.
My thanks to Hido, Robin and Jason at Power and Play Warehouse for their help, quick response and willingness to go above and beyond to make our experience a good one. Their service department is tops and they actually stand behind their warranties!
For the money, QLinks Commuter 250 can\'t be beat... but then a 25 plus year history of building motor bikes gives them the edge. I would give this bike 5 stars for performance, price and looks.
